Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week
Salary – depending on experience


Premier Foods, Ashford, has a large engineering department, ultimately responsible for the maintenance & performance of a wide range of FMCG and process manufacturing equipment. 


The main responsibility of this role will be to identify & implement maintenance methodologies, activities & technologies to optimise production performance aligned to equipment reliability & improvement. 


The ideal candidate will require previous experience of working in a similar role.  


In addition, the candidate will need to demonstrate that they:  

  • Have a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and relevant engineering National Diploma / C&G / NVQ qualifications. 
  • Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental & Food Safety standards, whilst being familiar with legislation & lead by example. 
  • Are pro-active in supporting the achievement of the site strategy and departmental targets. 
  • Have had previous involvement in project management activities and have a good understanding of budgets aimed to deliver and/or support small and larger project activities. 
  • Support site initiatives to drive forward performance improvement through engineering & maintenance strategies. 
  • Have relevant engineering experience to be able to support/repair/maintain site wide production equipment, with the ability to implement long term fixes. 
  • Have a practical understanding of maintenance methodologies and use this knowledge to implement and drive forward effective PPM schedules. 
  • Possess effective communication skills with ability to relay relevant information and work with Manager, direct teams, cross functional teams and suppliers/contractors. 
  • Have excellent organisational & time management skills. 
  • A good understanding of audits and compliance requirements with the ability to actively support both internal & external audits. 
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude with the drive to overcome blockers. 
  • Possess IT skills for use on MS, SAP and other computer-based applications.
