Customer Business Manager, Aldi / Lidl / TJ Morris and B&M

Role purpose:

Manage relationship of our core OL and newly developed branded business within the Hard discounters.

Build our Highstreet discounters business in line with our strategy ‘ Leverage retailer strategies to deliver profitable branded growth’.

Devise, agree and implement a Joint Business Plan which delivers both external and internal objectives, working with your portfolio of customers to efficiently manage the business and drive mutually growth.


What you'll be doing:

  • Build Category Joint Business Plans with each customer, delivering both internal & external objectives.
  • To manage, measure and improve customer profitability.
  • Maintain and update annual account plans to deliver corporate objectives.
  • Drive the accuracy and delivery of monthly sales forecasts – working with supply chain, forecasting and finance
  • Negotiate and deliver promotional programmes, ensuring promotions are communicated, forecasted, delivered, within guidelines and then evaluated in a timely manner.
  • Work with Marketing & Category (across brand and OL) to close distribution gaps and deliver New Product Launch plans (distribution, display, turnover targets)
  • Work with Category & Marketing to drive Customer range review delivery, and post review evaluation & future recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate pricing structure working within guidelines provided by CP&E, delivering cost increases as required.
  • Manage, monitor & drive ROI of trade spend & promotional spend
  • Manage internal systems to plan & measure financials – TPM, BOBJ.
  • Ensure ‘good housekeeping’ via efficient ledger query management (price, invoice, claims)
  • Other projects as deemed appropriate to the role / team / individual

What we need from you:

  • Solid account management experience within FMCG
  • Worked with the tiop four multinational supermarkets
  • P&L management of large accounts
  • Commercial awareness
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working cross functionally at all levels
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management
