Finance Manager – Controls and Process Improvements

Full time, permanent

Based in Manchester on a Hybrid basis

 

Role purpose:

The Premier Business Services (PBS) team covers the Record to Reporting team, Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Cash Management. This role is within the Record to Reporting team but will operate throughout the PBS team. The purpose of the department is to ensure the integrity of the company’s financial statements through the development and enforcement of robust processes and controls in the shared service centre.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the delivery of the PBS service model
  • Ensuring the E2E process and controls are documented and reviewed periodically for all key activities within the team.
  • Challenge and review the processes making sure the team understand the processes and risks. Review adequacy of controls and recommend improvements.
  • Management of relationships with key stakeholders in PBS, Group Finance, Internal Audit, Supply Chain finance, Procurement, Site Finance
  • Advise on system/process improvement and project change management

 

What we need from you:

Essential

  • Fully Qualified CIMA or equivalent (ACA, ACCA) with 2-5 years post qualification experience.
  • High impact and influence skills for stakeholder management across the finance function/wider company.
  • In-depth understanding of processes and reporting.
  • Awareness of proposed UK Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (SOX) legislation
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical background.
  • Ability to work as part of fast paced team and deliver to tight deadlines inc. prioritisation of workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Desirable

  • Experience of SAP GL / SAP sub systems
  • Experience within FMCG environment
  • Internal audit/ control environment
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Exposure to change management environment and methodologies such as Prince2/Lean/DMAIC e.t.c
  • Experience with automating processes i.e. robotics
