SAP FICO Analyst

Purpose of the role:

  • The primary responsibility is to configure & manage the continuous innovation, development & support in the analyst’s area of expertise.  The SAP team have Subject Matter Experts (SME) to cover Manufacturing, Planning, Sales & Distribution, Procurement, Commercial, Data & Analytics, Technical, HR/Payroll and Finance.  This also includes non-SAP solutions in the SME area.  
  • This role is responsible for the development and governance of business systems under your remit: in the conversion of the product, application or solution requirements taken from the business or technology partners into an architecture and design.  
  • This role will help drive innovation through exploitation of Premiers existing applications by leveraging our existing investments. 
  • This role will help drive the strategic direction of the function emphasising an approach based on quality, collaboration and agility. Trends and developments in the IT industry need to be incorporated into the delivery model. 
  • As a subject matter expert, you will provide consultancy on applications & technology solutions, making recommendations and insights which are in line with the company's vision. 
  • You will work closely with service providers to ensure consistent support is provided to all SAP users and provide expertise and guidance for enhancements to SAP and applications under your responsibility. 

 

What you’ll be doing:

Solutions Development 

  • Collaborate with IT and Business Leadership to develop and implement solutions which reflects and supports the business agenda for designated business function. 
  • Configuration of SAP systems and provision of functional specifications for developers 
  • Provide insight & assess requirements for the responsible portfolio solution areas to exploit and enhance our applications. Work with strategic solutions partners to integrate and extend the capabilities our applications. 
  • Conduct applications research and maintain an understanding of the business requirements and industry trends to ensure Premier leverages its applications investments. 
  • Apply awareness of developing SAP functionality and its application to identify, support and manage the delivery of process and system improvements. 
  • Demonstrates and articulates a deep technical understanding of the technology solutions that drive the business channel(s) and the integration points of those solution. 
  • Influence the requirements of the IT Infrastructure.
  • Implement recommendations in conjunction with IT Business Partners and participate in the release process by liaising with other IT team members in Support and Infrastructure Teams. 

 

Systems Governance  

  • Manage and govern the development of the SAP modules in SME area and associated Non-SAP applications. 
  • Work with the IT leadership team to ensure a consistent application architecture. 
  • The primary IT point of contact for those SAP & Non-SAP applications in scope.
  • Attend the key Service meetings within the service partners.
  • Assist in the development of the IT budget and ensure it reflects the future application roadmap. 
  • Design and develop technical solutions either by using internal or external delivery teams. 
  • Ensure that SAP and other core applications are developed using Best Practice approaches. 
  • Deliver the functional configuration of SAP or ensure the appropriate governance when utilising third parties, in ensuring we have a quality SAP solution.
  • Appraise solution designs and be able to provide alternative solutions as Solutions Area Expert.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained to the required standard.

 

Demand Management 

  • Support the IT Business Partners in contact with the business 
  • Assist development of an applications strategy which reflects and supports the business agenda for designated business function 
  • Ensure business partners’ understanding of operational area systems and services, and influence and collaborate in decision making processes that relate to those operational areas 
  • Help assure consistent use of SAP in all related business processes 
  • Guide business towards areas of improvement which increase business value and reduce cost 
  • Facilitate end systems solution selection with IT Business Partners 
  • Understand and influence business strategies through the use of IT  
  • Agree and deliver enhancement requests with internal & external service partners 
  • Facilitate and encourage the utilisation of SAP to its full potential 

 

Project Management 

  • Manage the delivery of projects to time, quality and cost 
  • Manages internal resources, third-party consulting, technical and/or outsourcing relationships where required 
  • Ensure projects include technical elements 
  • Ensure delivery of training and education  
  • Ensure the use of project management methodology and the development of the correct documentation 
  • Lead the thinking around agile project delivery through prototyping, proof of concept etc. 

 

What we need from you:

  • SAP relevant module experience of FI / CO / PA 
  • Full lifecycle experience of delivering projects 
  • Proven delivery of projects 
  • Self-motivated, results-driven

  • Proven track record in IT delivery
