Senior Finance Manager – R2R

6 Month FTC

Based in Manchester

 

Role purpose:

This job is responsible for working with the Record to Report (R2R) team to successfully deliver year end and audit for Premier Foods, working collaboratively across functions within PBS, Group and Customer Finance teams as well as external audit.

 

What you'll be doing:

Operational Management

  • Oversee production of accurate and timely financial information, including financial accounting and reports which could include forecasts
  • Provide analysis to support variance/issue resolution for effective management of the business and audit processes
  • Manage delivery against SLAs and monitor performance using KPIs
  • Prioritise and organise workload of teams' resource to ensure operational delivery
  • Identification and resolution of issues and escalation as required within appropriate timescales.
  • Collaborative approach to driving cross functional working across PBS and the broader business. 

 

People Leadership

  • Co-ordinate, manage and develop the work of a team of colleagues to deliver department KPIs and maximise their effectiveness and contribution to the wider business targets
  • Leading an engaged team through feedback, team meetings

 

Customer Service

  • Strong focus on customer service and provides an agreed level of service to the business and external customers
  • Assuring the delivery of consistent, accurate and timely information to the business with records maintained for internal and external reporting requirements
  • Embedding a customer service culture
  • Measuring customer service delivery
  • Improve customer service quality and relationships

 

Process Improvement

  • Pro-actively identify, research, and recommend improvements to systems, structures, procedures, and practises within the department to ensure efficient and effective business operations, and implement changes once approved
  • Implement and manage specific processes to ensure the business maximises financial returns and minimises risk

 

Control & Compliance

  • Ensure appropriate controls are implemented and process and procedures are compliant with legal and audit requirements
  • Share best practise and ensure action is taken on non-compliance
  • Ensure audit requirements are agreed and met
  • Ensure compliance to accounting and other relevant standards

 

Technical Competence

  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to understand entire end to end processes and owners

 

What we need from you:

  • Qualified accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA (or equivalent)
  • Substantial post qual experience in running finance processes with a strong financial control focus
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with stakeholders at all levels, understanding their requirements
  • Proven leadership experience in a large team
  • Experience of leading teams through change 
  • Change management experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • FMCG experience (desirable)
  • SAP (desirable)
