The main purpose of the role is to Support and assist the Site Technical Manager in providing the Bakery with technical compliance.  To ensure that all products are manufactured to company and external standards, with regards to food hygiene, safety and quality.

 

Key responsibilites of the role:

To manage a team of QA staff in the day to day QA activities to ensure products meet  required specifications.

To manage the site HACCP systems to ensure all products are manufactured to meet current food safety legislation.

To manage site systems to meet BRC requirements to Grade A standard.

To deputise for the Technical Manager as appropriate to ensure that the sites Technical functions are represented and maintained where relevant.

To ensure all staff are appropriately trained to meet the job specific and health and safety requirements of their role.

To ensure and continuously improve all site QA and Technical systems to meet the requirements of internal and external audit standards.

To represent the site in Quality related issues with our key customers (e.g. quality review).

 

Experience and Competencies

5 or more years appropriate experience within a FMCG food industry, ideally with at least 3 years within a quality management role.

HND or equivalent in food technology or related discipline

Numerate and computer literate in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Practical knowledge of quality and auditing systems

Ideally advanced Food Hygiene and HACCP qualifications and certified internal auditor. (appropriate to the role and if not already achieved will become part of the development programme)

Must be proficient in HACCP systems and their application.

Ability to work on own initiative, and sound people management skills
