What you'll be doing:

  • Build strong relationships with customer contacts, supporting with proactive analysis, actionable insights and strategic category growth initiatives
  • Capture evidence & evaluate customer’s activation of key Events i.e. Christmas, Easter etc
  • Use Kantar, IRI & IGD sources to pull comprehensive analysis on customer performance as well as becoming an expert in any relevant retailer specific software e.g. Dunnhumby, i2c– creating actionable insight and concise reports for both buyers and PF BAMs
  • Develop objective space to sales recommendations and ensuring this is aligned to range review objectives and Category Vision growth opportunities.
  • Measure and track Premier Foods share of shelf and check variance to fair share by means of identifying opportunities
  • Working closely with the sales commercial team and account category teams to ensure they are armed with the relevant category insights and recommendations
  • Build close relationships with your internal account contacts to allow for a 121 relationship outside of BAM formal meetings and updates
  • Balance priorities to ensure that the key category challenges are being met for both Premier Foods and for your customer
  • Be a lead voice on your category driving the internal strategy by being the internal voice of the retailer – guiding our thinking as business
  • Support commercial sell ins and internal NPD development on the categories to which you are aligned
  • Ensure category drivers are up to date, relevant and are being utilised across brand, CPE and Marketing

 

What we need from you:

  • DATA, INSIGHT & ANALYSIS - Understanding data sources, ability to use the latest tools competently & effectively to source information accurately and quickly and then turn data into insight. Excellent excel skills (pivot tables/v look ups) and numerically competent.
  • STORY TELLING - Taking complex information and bringing it to life in a compelling way, tailoring to the audience. Engaging and confident presentation verbal and non verbal style. 
  • INSIGHT INTO ACTION - Action focussed with commercial edge that creates momentum
  • INFLUENCING – Ability to influence a buyer / merchandiser through category data. Conviction of argument and ability to drive change / convince.
  • LEADERSHIP – Influencing decision making both internally and externally and leading groups on projects. Coaching your direct report and deputising for the Category Controller when necessary.
  • TEAM WORKING – ability to build relationships across internal and external teams and influence effectively. In particular to work as part of a virtual team to support each other and gain category insights across retailers.
  • COMMERCIAL AWARENESS - Commercially savvy and aware of the consequences of the actions and decisions – understanding how category decisions impact commercial performance
  • PROBLEM SOLVING - Can problem solve and bring clear direction and solutions to complex challenges, takes initiative to keep trying. Proactive. Can consult and take on board recommendations from others.
