Commercial Finance Analyst 

Full time, permanent

Based in St Albans


Role purpose:

The Sweet Treats Business generates over £250m Turnover (1/3rd of total Business) and is a key growth engine in Premier Foods. We’re looking for a commercially astute Analyst to support the business as we accelerate the branded performance over the next few years. 

This role is suited to a Part Qualified Finance Analyst looking to move into a highly commercial area with exceptionally fast-paced challenge and cross-functional senior management exposure. 


What you'll be doing:

  • Operate as an effective Business Partner to the Customer Director for Asda, Morrisons & Co-Op, providing accurate and timely finance support to drive informed and quality business decision making. 

  • Understand the performance drivers and longer-term issues of customers and the implications of these for the wider business. 

  • Responsible for the period end analysis for Asda, Morrisons & Co-Op, the short-term forecast cycles and evaluation of performance to drive insight for the sales teams & the senior leadership team. 


What we need from you:

  • Individuals with commercial and/or analytical background will be considered 

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA part qualified, with expectations to fully qualify

  • Commercial acumen and understanding of external challenges 

  • Strong IT skills, particularly within excel 

  • Experience with SAP, Business Objects or other equivalent analytics tools beneficial 

  • Ability to challenge appropriately and influence at all levels, using data to provide insights and make suitable recommendations 

  • Strong business partnering skills and the ability to build relationships cross-functionally 

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and solve complex problems 

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail 

  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to adapt to an agile environment
