Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marketing Executive to contribute to delivering the agreed Mr Kipling Brand profit and growth targets, by delivering and executing the brand strategy/ plan.


  • Mr Kipling is the biggest brand in Premier Sweet Treats portfolio, valued at £152m RSV.  The brand is high profile internally & critical to delivering total business results.
  • Mr Kipling is the #1 brand in cake with a portfolio including slices, pies and tarts, fancies and whirls
  • There are ambitious plans to drive future growth, leveraging the strength of our portfolio, as well as seeking out significant new product development opportunities. 


We are looking for an ambitious marketer, with strong drive and passion to support the team in the growth of the Mr Kipling brand. 


What you will be doing:

  • Ownership of specific parts of the Mr Kipling product portfolio, agreed in conjunction with the Senior Brand Manager.
  • Support the Mr Kipling team in the development & delivery of the annual Brand strategy & plan.
  • Responsible for new product development and excellent execution into market
  • Responsible for Monthly Brand Performance Analysis
  • Responsible for ongoing communication with PR agency.
  • Key deliverables:
    • Execute the Mr Kipling Easter 2021 range in store on time and in full
    • Support the Senior Brand Manager in delivery of the seasonal strategy for Easter 2022
    • Complete the launch of a new product to market on time and in full
    • Implement a key manufacturing project and execute in market with a smooth transition
    • Take new products through the stage gate process applying strong rationale and a consumer led approach

What we need from you:

  • Successful marketing (brand building) experience within a market leading FMCG organisation
  • An ability to work at pace, a strong bias for action and high degree of personal accountability
  • Understanding and experience of working with the UK Grocery trade
  • A commercially and analytically aware individual who is comfortable developing and presenting business cases in an organisation which will only invest on the back of sound quantitative evidence.
  • Able to think ‘bigger picture’, to scope out opportunities for growth.  Coupled with an ability to simplify the complex and cut through noise, to deliver a clear plan of action
  • An instinctive marketer who ‘gets’ consumers and places them at the core of everything that they do
