Asst. Shopper & Brand Activation Manager - International

Based in St Albans/Hybrid WFH

 

Purpose

As a business we are looking forward to the next phase of our development, where we deliver ‘Outperformance’ defined by further accelerated growth that’s ahead of market norms. One of the key strategic platforms to deliver this growth is our International Business, which is tasked to enter new markets and geographies with our portfolio of well-loved brands.

As our Shopper & Brand Activation Manager, you will be required to support the International Shopper Marketing Manager to drive the activation of our brands, in and close to stores, maximising ROI on our budgets and therefore delivering brand growth.  

We are seeking someone who can deliver best-in-class shopper activation strategies and executions with our retail partners that make our brands the most compelling choice and increase conversion, as well as drive NPD awareness and trial. The scope of this role covers all branded shopper focused activities where you will work on creative development, shopper focused media planning and activity execution with customers which align with their omni-channel approach.

 

The role will require you to form strong, positive working relationships not just within the marketing community, but across the wider business and with external partners, and therefore the ability to successfully work cross-functionally is important.

 

What you'll be doing:

Flawless Activation

  • Translate the brand proposition and brand plans into shopper marketing activations to deliver the P&L targets
  • Flawless activation of NPD and brand-led events across all relevant shopper touch points, accountable for concept, planning, booking, implementation and evaluation
  • Recommend and manage off fixture displays e.g. pre-filled shippers, FSDUs, parasite units
  • Support identification, set-up, onboarding & briefing of key external suppliers to activate initiatives

 

Business partnership

  • Develop strong understanding of the brands priorities and key activities across markets
  • Develop long term key customer relationships with key Customers buying and marketing teams to ensure that shopper activations are meeting customer strategies and challenges. Understand key customers’ corporate themes and leverage into developing winning plans
  • Consult and gain approval from International Marketing Manager and Market Heads on key projects
  • Leverage learnings and best practices from UK Shopper Marketing teams; understand and roll out business-wide approach of what a successful shopper plan looks like whilst managing each country’s specificities
  • Leverage creative assets from the UK as and when relevant

 

Measure of success

  • Deliver the customer plans on time and on budget, ensuring they contribute to the overall delivery of the commercial targets
  • Put in place measures of performance and enable ROI review of activities

 

What we need from you:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in an international branded FMCG business with a shopper or customer marketing, brand activation & commercial background
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability & a commercial mind, who can work in an entrepreneurial fast-paced international business environment, flexing across diverse cultures & working styles
  • Able to work collaboratively and build effective relationships working with a cross-functional team, including central UK & commercial teams, external agencies & customers across different international markets
  • Enquiring mind with strong execution & activation capabilities
  • Resilience, agility & tenacity in the face of ambiguity & strong ability to learn
  • Good communication skills with the ability to confidently communicate both internally & externally
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office / PowerPoint is essential
  • Experience working in the USA or Australia highly desired
  • Experience working on online & e-commerce channels also desirable
