We are really excited to be offering a permanent Monday-Friday, days-based role at our Worksop site within our Engineering team.


As a Technical Support Technician, you will support the operational performance of a shift within one of our factories. Reporting into an Engineering Manager and working closely with a Technical Support Team Lead, you will be key to providing proactive maintenance to our production lines, as well as being a key player in project work, improving our production plant.


Here at Worksop, we have four factories on site that produce a variety of well-known brands and products including:

  • OXO
  • Sauces - including Sharwoods and Homepride
  • Batchelors Supernoodles
  • Sharwoods Poppadoms
  • Bisto gravy granules
  • SAXA salt


Our variety of operations and processes include extrusion, agglomeration, pasteurisation, frying technologies, as well as a variety of packing mediums and technologies.


Our Engineering team of 70 have opportunities to move across factories to continually develop and build their knowledge of our site.


You will typically work Monday to Friday 7:00-15:00 and the salary for the role is £45,000.00 p.a.

What you’ll be doing:

Working with a minimum amount of supervision. The successful candidate will be making informed decisions based on their key skills/knowledge and providing engineering support including but not limited to:

  • Actively participate in the engineering team, maintaining departmental and building services.
  • Support the delivery of SAP Planned Maintenance activities.
  • Work cross functionally to maximise utilisation of site assets.
  • Maintain effectiveness, reliability, and benefit from existing site technology.
  • Support planned maintenance programmes with consideration to optimising performance
  • Work cross functionally to deliver a consistent and dynamic approach to Continuous Improvement and Focussed Improvement.
  • Support the implementation and delivery of capital, revenue, and improvement projects.
  • Support the engineering function to comply with legislative and Company ethical standards in terms of safety, food hygiene and staff management.
  • Support the structure, culture, and behavioural values of the site engineering team.
  • Be an active member of the departmental Safety team.


What we need from you:


  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Time served Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  • 5 years manufacturing experience in an FMCG environment
  • Engineering maintenance experience in an FMCG environment
  • Minimum of 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • IT literate


  • HNC Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Food Hygiene & IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications
  • HACCP level 2
  • WAH & Confined Space trained management
  • Confident, demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence others.
