Keeping our colleagues safe at work

We’re committed to ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our colleagues, contractors, visitors and suppliers who are involved in our business.

Through our structured and proportionate control of risk, we aim to prevent workplace accidents and work-related ill-health.

We’re proud of the industry-leading health and safety standards we’ve achieved across all our sites - through a wide range of initiatives that engage and support colleagues at all levels.

The central health and safety team fully supports site duty holders and their teams in delivering a safe workplace for all. Roles include Group H&S Manager, Site H&S Managers, Site H&S Support/Coordination roles, Occupational Health Advisors and Technicians.

Emma Dale - Group Health, Safety & Environment Manager

I joined Premier Foods in November 2015 as the Group Health & Safety Manager and subsequently promoted to Group Health, Safety & Environment Manager in 2021. My role can involve procedure and policy developments, training, auditing, and liaison with external bodies.  Food manufacturing is so diverse that you never know what the next day holds and that is what I enjoy about working for Premier Foods.  

Safety is always a key priority on all sites and the safety culture continues to improve. This could not happen without the strong support from the teams on all sites. This is what has helped us achieve one of the best safety records in the food manufacturing industry in the UK. 

I love the fantastic team I work with. My role is challenging but is also enjoyable at the same time.
