Salary       Up to £38,000 per annum depending on experience

 
What You’ll Be Doing:
As our Ingredient Change Technologist, you will play a critical role in identifying and delivering ingredient-related cost-saving projects that align with financial targets. You’ll lead from idea generation through to execution, ensuring all ingredient changes are compliant, approved, and seamlessly integrated into production.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Generating and delivering cost-saving ideas through the Business Improvement Process
  • Carry out ingredient and specification evaluations, trials, and approvals
  • Leading batching and filling trials, ensuring regulatory and technical compliance
  • Acting as the owner of the Product Change Data System
  • Collaborating with Procurement, R&D, Marketing, and internal teams to approve and implement changes
  • Supporting production planning for smooth ingredient changeovers
  • Maintaining the development kitchen and assisting in material supply resolutions

Essential skills & experience:
  • Strong ingredient knowledge and understanding of food regulations
  • Food application/manufacturing experience (minimum 3 years)
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate & basic HACCP knowledge
  • Good level of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to assess and interpret product test data
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence change
 
Desirable:
  • Degree in Food Science/Technology or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of BRC and Quality Management Systems
  • Internal auditing and project management experience
 
Working Environment:
This role is based onsite, with a blend of office, production, and warehouse work. You must be able to work full days, manage physical tasks in production settings, and engage effectively with cross-functional teams
