Production Planner

Permanent role – based at the Ashford site

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week (with some flexibility)

Salary - £32,000 per annum

 

WHAT’S ON OFFER:

We have a great opportunity to work for one of the biggest and most recognised food businesses in the UK at the Ashford site as part of the Supply Chain Team.

The Production Planner is responsible for planning Ashford produced items and maintain high customer service levels whilst continually looking to reduce cost and waste.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be responsible for planning several production lines and mixing processes
  • Represent Supply Chain Team on Business Customer Service calls.
  • Producing accurate weekly production plans that are aligned with the needs of operations around engineering work, labour and skills.
  • Preparing monthly reports on long term line utilisation with ideas on how to optimise plans to drive production efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Calculate optimum stock holdings and set up systems accordingly.
  • Monitoring potential or actual out of stock situations and taking appropriate actions.
  • Monitor product shelf-life and actively work with other departments to ensure most cost- effective sales route is found for any at risk stock
  • Deputise for the Planning Manager when needed.
  • Build relationships with internal factory contacts: other planners, factory management, other factory functions e.g. QA, Finance & Logistics.
  • Being involved in site Loss Review process to drive continuous improvement
  • Represent Supply Chain on cross-functional NPD project teams as required
     

 What we need from you:

  • Educated to A-level or equivalent.
  • Highly competent in the use of IT software especially Excel.
  • Competent user of SAP planning systems.
  • Ability to manage a broad and complex portfolio of goods, focusing on priorities against a challenging backdrop of change.
  • Highly Analytical and able to work under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of production planning, material supply and NPD processes.
  • Knowledge of planning processes including creating plans and scheduling.
