Job Title - Recycling Centre Operative

Based - Ashford, Kent, TN24 0LU 

Starting Salary - £27,595 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance) increasing to £30,162 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance), within 6 months and £32,250 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance) after one year  

Hours of Work (Alternating) - 06.00am - 14.00pm / 14.00pm - 22.00pm, Monday to Friday 

About the role

Your main responsibility will be to ensure waste is managed in line with legislation and procedures. Maintaining disposal and recycling areas, ensuring correct segregation, and maximising value.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

• Be passionate about health and safety and use this to maintain our low accident rate
• Have a good awareness of environmental policies and procedures
• Have experience in correct segregation of waste
• Have good attention to detail
• Team working but also be able to use own initiative
• Have the ability to think and plan analytically
• Have strong communication skills and be able to maintain our reputation when liaising with those external to the business
• Be proactive and always try to solve any problems encountered
• Be flexible to adapt to changing demands
• Good computer skills
