Salary - From £35,000 to £40,000 per annum

Shifts Available from Monday to Friday (08:30am - 17:00pm)

A full time, permanent oppurtunity has become available at our Barnsley site for Production Planner to join the team.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Supply Chain team to ensure the Coordination of production timelines, resources, and workforce availability to ensure manufacturing runs efficiently. While daily and weekly tasks focus on immediate priorities, monthly activities emphasize longer-term planning, performance tracking, and process improvements.
The successful candidate will:
- Analyse forecasts / stocks and capacity data at SKU level.
- Produce detailed weekly production / Labour plans covering up to 21 days at SKU / line level ensuring achievement of the key KPI’s of service, stock, Labour and cost.
- To carefully maintain and expedite lists of activities (promotions, price changes, product launches, packaging changes and deletions). NPD trials etc.
- To produce daily production schedules - detailing product quantities, product sequences and BB codes, Freeze coding requirements.
- In line with the medium term forecast to create and control by code strategic cold store stocks of product (particularly Christmas) to meet periods of peak demand.
- To identify stock shortages and surpluses and where possible to take remedial action with the customer stock teams or production management.
- To maintain SAP APO system database information regarding product codes, planning rates / throughputs, shelf life and product staffing levels and to identify differences from planned standards.
To support continuous improvement by advising on changes to the scheduling system which will positively affect performance. Communicate plans effectively and short-term amendments to ensure all relevant departments are aware to resource.
What skills you will need:
- Highly numerical
- Advance Excel capabilities
- Good with building relationships, including good conflict resolution skills and the ability to challenge
- Experience with Maestro/rapid response (Desirable)
