Pilot Plant Technician
Part-time - 20hrs per week - 8:00am - 12noon five days per week
Based in Lifton
A key member of the team that supports the smooth running of the Pilot Plant through daily collection of materials, maintaining stock levels of ingredients, following good manufacturing practices, helping to keep the department clean and tidy, as well as other duties as identified by the Pilot Plant Manager.
What we need from you...
- Previous manual handling experience
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience within NPD or food environment
- Able to work alone and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and administrative skills you'll be doing/
- Confident Excel user
- Good inter-personal skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic cross functional environment.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- This job involves manual handling
What you'll be doing...
- Assist in the operations of the pilot plant ensuring GMP and H&S standards are adhered to.
- Daily collection of raw materials
- Source, co-ordinate, and maintain an adequate supply of ingredients and consumables, ensuring items are in date with correct labelling and coding.
- Maintain equipment to the highest of cleanliness standards
- Preparing batches for processing in the pilot plant
- Maintain the raw materials stock record with up-to-date information.
- To operate mixing and other stand-alone equipment to facilitate pilot plant production.
- Assist in keeping the department clean and tidy.
- Ensuring the safety of self, other, food safety, and challenge any safety issues
- To operate manual handling equipment.
- Safe handling of chemicals in line with COSHH regulations
- Identify own training needs with the Pilot Plant Manager and agree a time plan to achieve.
- Proactively improve ways of working in conjunction with the Pilot Plant Manager
- Contribute to the successful running of the pilot plant, helping us meet and beat our daily plans.
- Ensure compliance documentation is completed accurately and correctly.
- Assisting members of the wider R&D team
