Role Purpose
We’re looking for a hands-on Application Developer to lead the delivery and evolution of our custom-built applications, spanning Domino (HCL Notes/Domino) and modern web technologies including the MERN stack.
This role combines technical expertise with ownership of the application roadmap, driving migration and modernisation initiatives while ensuring alignment with business and IT strategy. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver secure, scalable, and future-ready solutions, applying DevOps principles and best practices throughout.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, developing and maintaining applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js)
- Working closely with product owners, designers and fellow engineers to deliver high‑quality, user‑focused solutions
- Supporting DevOps practices, helping to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes and system reliability
- Writing clean, maintainable code and contributing to code reviews and best‑practice discussions
- Troubleshooting, optimising and enhancing existing applications
- Continuously learning and sharing knowledge within the team, helping us improve how we work together
What we need from you
- Proven experience developing applications using the MERN stack
- Able to demonstrate working closely with a service desk team
- A solid understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks and best practices
- Experience or strong interest in DevOps, cloud environments and automated deployment
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to share ideas and challenge constructively
- A passion for building quality software and continuously improving your skills
