To support this next phase of growth, we’re creating a new senior leadership role: Head of Media. This is a rare opportunity to define, build and lead a step‑change media strategy across one of the UK’s most exciting and diverse food portfolios.
The opportunity - Reporting into a Global Marketing Director and working closely with the CMO and Marketing SLT, you’ll be accountable for developing and executing a best‑in‑class, portfolio‑level media strategy across paid, owned, earned and retail media.
You’ll lead the evolution of how we plan, buy, measure and optimise media — ensuring our brands cut through, our investment works harder, and our agency ecosystem is set up for long‑term success. While the primary focus is the UK, there will also be opportunities to support international markets including Australia, North America and Europe.
What you'll be doing?
- Define and deliver a portfolio‑wide media strategy across paid, owned, earned and retail media
- Lead and manage a complex media agency ecosystem, spanning strategy, planning and buying
- Drive consistency, best practice and effectiveness across a broad portfolio of UK brandsPartner with the CMO and Brand Directors to evaluate media strategies, media mix, measurement and ROI
- Provide clear, confident recommendations that challenge and enhance agency thinking
- Influence the future of Premier Foods’ media approach, including retail media, performance channels and emerging models
- Provide senior oversight of a significant media budget, working collaboratively in a matrix environment
What we need from you?
- Strong experience in consumer products, ideally within grocery or retail‑led environments
- Proven leadership of large‑scale paid media budgets (£10m+)
- Deep experience managing media agencies in complex, multi‑brand environments
- A strategic mindset — able to think analytically and creatively, and confidently challenge the status quo
- A modern view of media, including performance‑led channels such as paid social and YouTube
- Experience of retail media (D2C experience is an advantage)
- Credibility and perspective on the evolving media landscape, including AI, creative disruption and measurement
- The confidence and presence to influence senior stakeholders and present with impact
- A collaborative, relationship‑driven approach, thriving in matrix organisations
