Role Purpose 

This newly created role sits within our Procurement Leadership Team and will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of Procurement at Premier Foods. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will lead our Procurement Excellence team—driving best‑in‑class processes, digital transformation, capability building, and continuous improvement across the function. 

 

With Premier Foods entering an exciting period of growth and transformation—including recent acquisitions—this role ensures our procurement function continues to deliver award‑winning performance while anticipating the future needs of the business.  

What you’ll bdoing 

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies, frameworks, and policies to maximise value, mitigate risk and support our Enriching Life Plan. 

  • Leading cross‑category transformation initiatives including digitalisation, process improvement, and supplier relationship excellence. 

  • Overseeing analytics, data insights, and performance measurement to drive informed decision‑making. 

  • Building procurement capability via training, coaching, and development initiatives. 

  • Partnering collaboratively with Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, IT and external suppliers to align procurement with business priorities. 

  • Managing major change programmes, delivering measurable impact and embedding continuous improvement. 

  • Acting as a subject‑matter expert on procurement trends, market insights, regulatory requirements and best practice. 

  • Improving end‑to‑end Source to Pay processes—from tendering through requisitioning and invoicing. 

  • Supporting category teams to embed ESG and Enriching Life principles into everyday procurement activity. 
     

What wneed from you 

  • Extensive experience in procurement, supply chain or commercial roles—ideally in FMCG or food manufacturing. 

  • Proven success leading transformation and change programmes. 

  • Strong analytics, strategic thinking and problem‑solving capability. 

  • Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills. 

  • Deep understanding of procurement systems, digital tools and data analytics. 

  • Experience delivering training and capability initiatives. 

  • High commercial acumen and sound business judgement. 

  • A collaborative, proactive and results‑focused approach with experience across both Directs and Indirects preferred.
