Internal Communicatons Manager
Based in St Albans/Hybrid WFH 50% of the time with a requirement to visit one of UK sites every 1 - 2 months

This exciting role will be part of the Corporate Affairs team, which is made up of internal communications, external communications and public affairs and sits within the wider Human Resources team. Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Manager, this is a fast-paced and varied role which will be instrumental in the development and implementation of internal communications to over 4,000 colleagues.
Newly created, this role will have a particular emphasis on managing our communication channels and content to colleagues at our seven manufacturing sites based across the UK which are home to some of the nation’s most loved and iconic brands. We think it will suit someone who is passionate about food and finding ways to engage a large and diverse colleague base, while enjoying writing and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
What we need from you..?

Outstanding written communication.

Ability to think strategically and be proactive with new and creative ideas, while ensuring seamless execution.

Strong project management and organisational skills, which means you are an effective multi-tasker.

Experience communicating with multiple internal audiences and driving engagement among both groups.

Experience managing multiple communications channels, in particular digital communication channels.

Ability to use their own initiative, prioritise, strategically plan and practically execute with speed and effectiveness.

Flexibility with working hours as on some occasions this role will need to work outside normal office hours due to events we may be hosting as well as travelling to sites across the UK.

Experience or willingness to learn and use digital communication tools and innovative technology

Not essential but ideally knowledge of intranet systems, Mail Chimp and Zoom.
What you'll be doing..?

Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Manager, you’ll help deliver the internal communications strategy and implement it across appropriate internal communication channels, with a particular focus on communications within our manufacturing sites and wider supply chain.

Lead on the day-to-day delivery of key projects and communications channels for colleagues at our manufacturing sites, such as a quarterly messaging cascade and a new colleague magazine, helping drive two-way engagement

Travel to our manufacturing sites on a regular basis (every 1-2 months) to support key projects, run focus groups and support the site leadership team and comms champs in delivering communications at our sites.

Help manage a network of site communication champions, driving engagement and regular uploading of content to our intranet and/or digital screens and encouraging sharing of best practice.

Take a leading role to project manage the launch of a new colleague magazine, including writing and editing content, managing an external agency, liaising with multiple internal stakeholders and ensuring the project hits key deadlines.

Plan, edit and write engaging internal communications content, ranging from all colleague emails and presentations and webinars, to stories for our intranet, to digital and written comms packs to support the Comms Champions and HR teams across all our sites

Work closely with HR and the comms champs based at each of our sites to support them on comms best practice and the cascade of messaging to our sites.

Working closely with the HR and IT teams to deliver communications and drive engagement of key initiatives at our sites.

Work closely with the External Communications Manager

Support the External Communications Manager and Director of Communications and Public Affairs around the delivery of our corporate PR campaigns, replicating content to our internal comms channels where appropriate and with crisis management as required.

Manage external agencies such as AV suppliers, designers and production companies on an ad hoc project basis.
