Regulatory Assistant

St Albans based with hybrid working (50%)

12 months fixed term contract (potential to become permanent)

 

Are you detail‑driven, organised and curious about how food products reach international markets? We’re looking for a Regulatory Assistant to join our Regulatory team and play a key role in supporting international exports across Republic of Ireland, Mainland EU and Northern Ireland.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their regulatory or specification career who enjoys working with data, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and ensuring compliance in a fast‑paced food environment.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Regulatory Manager, you’ll provide essential regulatory and technical administrative support to enable the smooth export of our products.
 
Your primary focus will be preparing and maintaining export technical documentation in line with EU regulatory requirements, while also supporting wider regulatory activities and ad‑hoc projects.
 
You’ll work closely with Customer Service, Technical teams, suppliers and customers, ensuring accurate and timely responses to export and technical queries.

 

Key responsibilities:

 
  • Regulatory & export support
    • Create and maintain export documentation in line with EU regulations using the Hamilton Grant specification system
    • Prepare product schedules for items requiring Health Certificates, gathering information from suppliers
    • Support export‑related queries in collaboration with Customer Service teams
    • Respond to customer requests for technical information, including ingredients, nutrition, specifications and artwork
    • Contribute to ad‑hoc projects within the Regulatory team as required
 
  • Collaboration & communication
    • Work closely with Customer Service, Regulatory and Central Technical teams
    • Liaise with manufacturing site technical teams, suppliers and customers to ensure accurate information flow

 

About you:

 

  • Food or science‑related degree
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a regulatory or specification environment
  • Experience supporting internal or retail customers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and small projects concurrently
  • Confidence working with product specification databases
  • Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data (e.g. spreadsheets)
