Role Purpose
We are looking for a Sales Degree Apprentice to join our highly skilled and experienced Customer team based in St Albans. Whilst being paid a full-time salary you can learn on the job, study for a fully funded Business to Business Sales degree and work on a real-life project. The degree course runs for three years and is a work-based learning degree. You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.

As a member of the Customer Team, you will experience a friendly supportive environment working alongside colleagues who are experts in their field.
Working in partnership with Consalia and Middlesex University, we are offering a 3-year apprenticeship programme where you will achieve a BSc (Hons) in Professional Practice in Business-to-Business Sales. You will gain skills to the highest level following an established apprenticeship programme as you journey towards becoming one of our Customer Account Executive.
The Interview Selection Centre will be held at the end of July 2026. You will need to be available to attend if successfully selected for interview.

You will also develop customer relationships by establishing rapport and building trust and confidence with demonstration of detailed product knowledge, competitor knowledge and an understanding of the market in which our business operates in, and by ensuring a positive customer experience.
What could your day-to-day role look like?
The Customer Team has a broad range of responsibilities, with lots of opportunities to learn and get involved in a variety of critical tasks and projects.
These include:

Developing strategic business growth plans focusing on all channels (supermarkets, convenience, online, etc)

Building and nurturing strong and sustainable customer relationships

Creating compelling promotional plans

Collaborating with stakeholders from across the business on best-in-class activation and product innovation launch plans

Analysing performance data using a variety of platforms and data sets and generating reports
What are the core components of this apprenticeship?
During your apprenticeship, you will acquire valuable skills and knowledge, including:
- Market Insight and Intelligence: Gaining an insight into industry trends, market shifts, and the dynamics of business-to-business sales
- Technology in Sales: Harnessing the power of data management tools and customer relationship management systems to streamline the sales process
- Commercial Awareness and Finance Principles: Learning how to contribute to commercial strategies with a deep understanding of financial principles and the external environment such as relevant markets, competitors and associated products and services
- Developing Sales Solutions and Proposals: Mastering the art of identifying prospects, conducting effective sales calls, and closing deals effectively
- Sales and Negotiation: Developing advanced negotiation skills to navigate complex deals
- Customer Experience: Cultivating and sustaining robust relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions
- Professional and Ethical Sales Practice: Navigating the world of sales regulations and ethical practices
What we need from you:

A minimum of 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade 4/ C or above, including Maths and English

Typically 2 A levels or equivalent or work experience

A real interest in Sales and food!

Drive, enthusiasm and commitment to learning new skills, seeking opportunities for personal development and passing on knowledge to others

The ability to communicate effectively and engage positively and proactively with customers and colleagues

Willingness to travel

UK residency for minimum of 3 years
