We are looking for an and motivated Engineering Team Manager to lead our Manufacturing Centre Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong people management skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and a proven background in engineering and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Working closely with the Site Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in driving operational performance, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and developing a high-performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day engineering function across the manufacturing site
- Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed effectively and on time
- Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and environmental culture
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance improvement plans
- Coordinate SAP planned maintenance activities and support asset reliability improvements
- Lead engineering teams through breakdowns and operational challenges
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineers, apprentices, and technicians
- Support recruitment, training, and succession planning activities
- Work cross-functionally with operational teams to maximise plant performance and efficiency
- Deliver engineering KPIs and contribute to site-wide strategic objectives
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous engineering management experience within manufacturing, ideally food manufacturing
- Strong leadership and people management capability
- Experience implementing continuous improvement and progressive maintenance techniques
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments
- Strong understanding of health & safety and legal compliance requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- IOSH/NEBOSH and Food Hygiene qualifications
- HACCP Level 2
- Multi-skilled engineering background (Electrical & Mechanical)
- Experience in continuous production environments
- Permit-to-work management experience
- Proven track record delivering engineering projects and performance improvements
