HSE Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover)

Working hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

Job Type: Fixed Term, Full Time

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on experience

Make a Real Impact: HSE Co-ordinator

If so, this fixed-term contract as an HSE Co-ordinator could be your next exciting challenge!  This position is to cover maternity leave expected to be for a period of 14 months.

 

We're looking for someone dedicated to upholding the highest HSE standards and working collaboratively to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and make a tangible difference within our operations.

 

As our HSE Co-ordinator, you'll play a vital role in coordinating all HSE-related documentation and working hand-in-hand with various departments across our site. You'll be instrumental in advancing our HSE goals, ensuring full compliance with policies and procedures, and ultimately helping us provide a safe workplace for our employees while protecting the environment.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

Championing Health & Safety 

  • Encourage a safe working environment for all employees in their area by supporting and enforcing standards as set out in the site Health and Safety Policies.
  • Participate in site safety initiatives such as TOP’s Tours and safety meetings.
  • Data input and data management/ administration of H&S systems, including TOPs, non-conformances.
  • Support administration and co-ordination of the audit system.
  • Support audits on site.

 

Driving Environmental Stewardship

  • Encourage an environmentally friendly working environment for all employees in their area by supporting and enforcing standards as set out in the site Environmental Policies.
  • Data input and data management of Environmental systems.
  • Support administration and co-ordination of the audit system.
  • Complete environmental audits, as per the schedule.

 

Ensuring Robust Compliance

  • Administration of systems and such as, f-gas, whose on site, Safe contractor .  
  • Liaise with external companies for site visits for engineering compliance requirements.
  • Maintain the statutory compliance of LEV noise and dust, including database system work.
  • Record and maintain records including Fire risk assessment action and monthly  fire doors and extinguisher checks
  • Supporting the site Risk assessment process.

 

Key Performance and Reporting

  • Collate and create KPI information for site.
  • Create KPI/Objectives slide packs for meetings, take meeting notes, coordinate actions.
  • Communicate TOPs as well as be-safe targets and actions tracking and reporting on a weekly basis. 
  • Monthly reporting of our key safety metrics to group.

 

SAP

  • Create and issue PO’s (Purchase Orders) through SAP ensuring adherence to budget.
  • Resolve any SAP related issues.
  • Order goods and services through SAP.

We're seeking a dedicated professional who can hit the ground running and make a real difference.


Essential:

  • Proven experience in a co-ordinator or administrative role, demonstrating strong organisational abilities.
  • Demonstrable involvement in Health & Safety (H&S) and Environmental initiatives, coupled with a genuine strong commitment to safe working behaviours.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. 

 

Desirable:

  • Experience within an FMCG or Food Manufacturing environment.
  • Previous dedicated H&S experience.
  • A relevant H&S qualification.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems.
