At Premier Foods, we're passionate about creating food that people love. As a Creative Solutions Technologist, you'll play a key role in exploring new ingredients, technologies and food trends that can shape the future of our products. Working within our R&D team, you'll combine scientific knowledge with hands-on experimentation, helping to bring innovative ideas from concept through to factory implementation.
 
Based at our Worksop site, you'll collaborate with colleagues across R&D, Marketing, Technical, Purchasing and external partners to deliver exciting opportunities for some of the UK's most loved brands
 
What you'll be doing?
  • Exploring emerging ingredient technologies, trends and innovations that could enhance our product portfolio.
  • Applying food science knowledge to recipe development and ingredient evaluation.
  • Planning and conducting kitchen, pilot plant and factory trials.
  • Generating and analysing data to support business recommendations and technical decisions.
  • Working closely with NPD and Technical teams to support the implementation of new ingredients.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers to understand and champion ingredient functionality and innovation.
  • Keeping up to date with nutrition, clean label and future food trends, identifying opportunities for Premier Foods brands.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, research centres, universities and innovation partners to bring new ideas to life.

 

What we need from you?

  • Degree-level qualification, ideally in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in food ingredients, innovation and emerging industry trends.
  • Ability to analyse data and translate findings into practical recommendations
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Resilient, proactive and able to work at pace.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and willing to learn specialist software.
  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing, technical or operational environment would be advantageous but is not essential
