Are you passionate about food innovation and bringing new products to life? Do you thrive on taking ideas from concept through to factory launch? We’re looking for a Senior Development Technologist to play a key role in delivering exciting new and existing products to market.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll lead and support product development projects from early idea generation through to implementation. Working closely with Marketing, Operations, Technical and external partners, you’ll ensure products are developed efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.

 

What you'll be doing?

  • Leading the development of new and existing products within your category area
  • Running pilot plant and factory trials, working closely with site technical and operations teams
  • Managing all development documentation and project processes
  • Acting as the development representative within cross‑functional project teams
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Sensory and Consumer teams to shape ideas and set benchmarks
  • Keeping up to date with consumer trends and food behaviours
  • Working with suppliers to understand ingredients and support product delivery
  • Supporting multiple manufacturing sites, including co‑manufacturers
  • Deputising for the NPD / Development Manager when required
  • Coaching, supporting and developing technicians or technologists, with potential line management responsibility

 

What we need from you?

You’ll be an experienced development technologist who can manage projects independently and enjoys working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Essential experience and qualifications:

  • 2–5 years’ experience within a technical or product development discipline
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification
  • Strong project management, organisation and problem‑solving skills

Desirable:

  • BSc in Food Science / Food Technology (or related degree)
  • 3+ years’ product development experience
  • Previous supervisory or people‑management experience
  • Innovative, creative and passionate about food
  • Highly organised, tenacious and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident working cross‑functionally and influencing stakeholders
  • A natural coach who enjoys developing others
  • Energetic, self‑starting and a genuine “foodie”
